You will soon be able to use Google Maps along with its voice directions, offline. Finally.
The feature, one of the many surprises announced at this year's Google I/O conference, is most likely to roll out at the end of this year.
What this means for us is that we'll be able to browse reviews, opening hours and get directions (obviously) at any time and place, including when in airplane mode.

Google is reportedly introducing it in order to help those in the developing world who have unreliable access to data.
We're pretty sure however, that spotty data is a 'first world problem' that will make all of us grateful for the offline friendly Google Maps.
