Strictly Come Dancing star Saffron Barker found herself somewhat overshadowed during an interview with Claudia Winkleman in Saturday night’s live show, when professional dancer Gorka Marquez felt it was the perfect time to do a bit of flexing.
Saffron and AJ Pritchard were speaking to Claudia about how excited they were ahead of their Quickstep performance, which would go on to earn them third place on the leaderboard, despite the judges picking up on a couple of errors.
However, during the pair’s interview, Gorka clearly felt it was the opportune moment to do a bit of impromptu pectoral dancing, which definitely didn’t go unnoticed by viewers watching along on social media...
Gorka’s pecs aside, Strictly’s annual trip to Blackpool threw out a number of surprises on Saturday night, and they weren’t all good ones, either.
Comedian Chris Ramsey opened the show with a Salsa routine to Uptown Funk, which earned him his highest score of the series, including two nines from Shirley Ballas and Bruno Tonioli.
Elsewhere, Anton Du Beke was also celebrating after EastEnders actress Emma Barton earned him his first ever 10s in 17 series.
However, some were disappointed to see Michelle Visage at the bottom of the leaderboard following her much-awaited Couple’s Choice routine to Madonna’s Vogue, which she dedicated to the LGBTQ community.
For the first time since joining Strictly in 2016, Gorka – who has previously performed with Tameka Empson, Alexandra Burke and Katie Piper – was not paired up with a celebrity on this year’s series, but continues to appear in group dances.
He will also be appearing in this year’s Christmas special, where he and his girlfriend Gemma Atkinson will dance together on TV for the first time, having met on the show in 2017.
