The photo above, posted by Imgur user Noerdy on Monday 14 December with the caption: "This dress blew her mind," quickly went viral - amassing a whopping 2.4 million views in just two days.
But while many commenters were quick to liken the display to the graphic scenes in Quentin Tarantino movies, on closer inspection the 'blood' is in fact part of a red floral display in the background.
That's one gory optical illusion.
