'Great British Bake Off': Geri Horner 'Eyed By Channel 4' As Mel And Sue Replacement'

The biggest presenting curveball since Matt LeBlanc?

In an interesting turn of events, Spice Girls singer Geri Horner is the latest name in the frame to take over at the helm of the ‘Great British Bake Off’ when the show airs on Channel 4 next year.

Unless you’ve been living under a giant rock - or even if you have - the chances are you’ll be aware that there is currently a vacant slot in the ‘Bake Off’ tent for a presenter, following the departure of Mel and Sue, who decided they didn’t want to leave the BBC.

As rumours continue to swirl about who’ll land the coveted presenting gig, Geri’s name has now cropped up in relation to the job.

She might seem like an unusual choice, but as anyone who follows Geri on Instagram will know, she’s become quite the baker in the past 12 months, and even won a celebrity version of the show earlier this year.

Geri’s past TV credits include appearing as a judge on ‘Popstars: The Rivals’ and fronting Channel 5’s coverage of ‘Party In The Park’, which led to this not-at-all-awkward interview with Avril Lavigne.

Davina McCall and Clare Balding have both denied reports that they’ll take over the job, with the former insisting it would conflict with her sugar-free lifestyle, and the latter claiming she’s too much of a fan of the show to take it over.
