‘Great British Bake Off’: Katie Piper Becomes Latest Name Rumoured To Be In Line For Presenting Job

Have Channel 4 found Mel and Sue's replacement?

The ink is barely dry on Channel 4’s new contract with Love Productions, which makes them the new owners of ‘Great British Bake Off’, but they’ve already got  big conundrum on their hands.

Shortly after the new deal was announced, much-loved hosts Mel and Sue announced that they weren’t prepared to front the show on the channel, and the task to replace them isn’t an easy one - but the broadcaster may have found the answer: Katie Piper.

Presenter Katie has signed a two-year long “golden handcuffs” deal with the channel, according to reports, which means they could put her to work in the ‘Bake Off’ tent.

She’s addressed the topic during a chat with the Mirror, and seems keen to take on the role, stating: “I would do it - and I can bake. Though I might end up with a soggy bottom.”

Katie’s not the only Channel 4 veteran rumoured to be on producers’ shortlists though, as Davina McCall could also reportedly be signing up.

At present, it’s also not clear whether the channel will need to recruit new judges, as a deal has not been reached with Paul Hollywood and Mary Berry, who the BBC are understandably keen to keep.
