Footage has emerged that will probably ensure you don’t go into the sea for, oh, at least THE REST OF YOUR LIFE.
It shows a man strapping on a GoPro camera to his head and then leaping into the ocean, where he comes face to face, with what else – only a bloody great white shark.
The beast is seen approaching the swimmer – whose arms and legs are filmed flailing wildly.

It also features our hero looking back to shore (and presumably turning the water brown) as his friends scream “shark”.
Sydney’s Daily Telegraph identifies the site as Manly’s “notorious and popular” Jump Rock, off Collins Beach.
But, as is ever the case, internet detectives are already crying foul, claiming the footage has been faked.
The newspaper cites comments pointing out the shark’s “teleportation” at the 59-second mark, adding the shark is seen briefly before disappearing and suddenly reappearing in a separate part of the shot.

The 1.38mins clip was uploaded to YouTube on 11 June by one Terry Tufferson and has been viewed nearly 350,000 times.
Which is slightly suspect given that the account holds just one video – this one.
Gizmodo’s Campbell Simpson also suspects it’s a fake, writing: “Big sharks in the harbour area are rare, and if I jumped from a rock cliff into the water and saw that staring back at me, I’d be swimming non-stop for terra firma, not stopping occasionally for the shark to conveniently swim past the camera.”
