Prince Harry will today learn first hand about two Rugby Football Union (RFU) projects encouraging the sport at a grass roots level when he visits a Devon club.

Harry is patron of All Schools, the RFU's flagship legacy programme, which aims to increase the number of state secondary schools playing rugby.

The initiative offers support to schools over a three year period, including kit and equipment, coaching, student volunteer training and links to centres like Paignton Rugby Club which the prince will tour.

Earlier this year Harry announced that the All Schools programme had reached its target of getting 400 new schools playing rugby by the time of the Rugby World Cup.

The RFU plans to continue to expand the programme with the aim of increasing the number of state schools participating in the initiative to 750 by the time of the 2019 Rugby World Cup.

Harry will also present the Paignton club with the RFU legacy gold standard award that recognises local clubs which are making significant contributions to promoting rugby in their local communities.

During his visit to Paignton the prince will meet a mix of coaches, players, volunteers and watch some of the club's younger team training sessions and match practices on the pitch.

Following the visit the prince will travel to nearby Sandy Park to watch the Rugby World Cup match between Namibia and Georgia.
