|

Court papers revealed that Monsegur was charged with 12 criminal counts of conspiracy to engage in computer hacking and other crimes in court papers in Manhattan federal court.

The Lulzsec leader pleaded guilty to executing cyber attacks on PayPal and MasterCard, according to The Guardian and The Montreal Gazette.

A teenager was also arrested in Ireland today in connection with the Lulzsec cyber attacks, according to PA.

A spokesman for Irish police said the investigation was being run by the Garda Bureau for Fraud Investigation and officers were liaising with international counterparts.

His arrest brings the number of arrests to five.

Lulzsec is a loosely-aligned hacker collective that is responsible for high profile cyber-attacks on Sony Pictures, the CIA website and the FBI.

The group reportedly retired, as seen in the video below. Their attempts to stay out of the limelight however, have evidently failed to deter the FBI.
