Helen Flanagan has apparently found a solution to the morning sickness which has plagued her first pregnancy - sour ice lollies.

A source close to the former Coronation Street actress says that she has been relying on frozen lollipops to keep her nausea at bay while pregnant with her first child.

More specifically, Marks & Spencer's Colin the Caterpillar sour fruit ice lollies are apparently her go-to sickness deterrent.

"Her freezer's bursting with them," the unnamed informer snitched to the Sunday People.

"She hasn't stopped retching since she found out she was expecting," added the freezer snooping pal. "But the lollies take the edge off the nausea and settle her stomach."

The actress has made no secret of her morning sickness sufferings, complaining on Twitter via a sarcastic meme of Will Ferrell's character in the movie Elf.

The 24-year-old announced last month that she and footballer boyfriend Scott Sinclair were expecting a baby, tweeting: 'Me and Scott are expecting our first baby in the summer. We are both so happy and so excited xxx'

It will be her first child with Manchester City winger Sinclair, 25, whom she has been dating for six years, barring a brief split in 2013. She is believed to be about three months pregnant, with her due date reportedly in June.

Helen quit the cobbles in 2012 to strike out on her own as an actress and model, being voted the top Brit in FHM's 100 Sexiest Women in the World poll in 2013. But she hasn't been shy about admitting that her real goal is to start a family.

She told Mail Online that being a mum was her 'absolute dream'. "I've always wanted to have children," Helen said. "I always feel broody, I've been broody since I was about 18! I absolutely love children, I really, really do."
