Helen Gurley Brown, who passed away on Monday, is largely credited with changing the face of women's media and championing a new type of sexually aware, powerful woman.
Editor-in-chief of Cosmopolitan for more than 30 years and author of Sex and the Single Girl, Sex and the Office, and Sex and the New Single Girl, she broke with tradition by openly discussing women's sexuality and offering sex advice.
The feisty nonagenarian was endlessly quote-worthy (sometimes inspirational, sometimes controversial) and we can't help but wonder whether her advice still resonates with women today.
