Rio 2016 presenter Helen Skelton’s husband has mocked the furore surrounding her outfit choices while covering this year’s Olympics.

Helen’s wardrobe has proved shockingly (and, let’s be honest, disappointingly) controversial while fronting the BBC’s Olympics coverage, at one point she even making the front page of the Daily Mail over her short skirt.

As Helen’s profile has continued to grow over the course of the week, her husband, rugby player Richie Myler, has also crept into the reporting, with headlines including ‘Meet Olympics presenter Helen Skelton’s hunky rugby player hubby’ and ‘Helen Skelton’s rugby player husband Richie Myler is cheering her from France’.

He’s now mocked the media attention his wife has been receiving over the past week, with a post on his Instagram page.

Alongside a photo of their one-year-old son, Ernie, in a nappy, he joked: “I wonder if Ernie will make the front page with this outfit on.”

Addressing his wife, he added: “[You’re] doing great keep up the good work! We are both very proud.”

Amid the attention Helen has received, it has been claimed that BBC bosses are keen to rope her in as a last-minute addition to this year’s ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ line-up, alongside Ed Balls, Will Young and Laura Whitmore who have all already been confirmed.

Helen previously appeared as a one-off in the 2012 ‘Strictly’ Christmas special, where she danced a Jive with Artem Chigvintsev.
