China’s first Hello Kitty themed restaurant has opened to sell-out crowds.
Featuring décor, food and uniforms all inspired by the cute cat herself, the Hello Kitty Dreams Restaurant has secured a cult following already.
Duan Yahui celebrated her 21st birthday at the Beijing restaurant with her boyfriend.
She told China Daily: “I was so happy to celebrate my birthday at the Kitty theme restaurant. It’s like being in Disneyland.”
Yahui, who received a Hello Kitty-shaped birthday cake from staff, added: “It’s too cute to eat. My friends who also love Kitty are jealous about my experience.”
Dining at Hello Kitty Dreams costs around 160 yuan (£16) per person – if you’re lucky enough to get a reservation.
For the pretty pink venue has been fully booked since opening on 23 December and diners are having to call a special hotline to be added to the growing list.
