Someone Replaced The Word 'Jew' With The Word 'Migrant' In Hitler Quotes And Put Them On Daily Mail Articles

What Happens When You Put Hitler Quotes In The Comments Of Daily Mail Articles? You Make Friends...

Anyone who has ever had the displeasure of delving into the barren wasteland of the Mail Online's comments could be forgiven for thinking a few might be closeted fascists. Usually any statements intended to add balance are militantly down-voted until they no longer appear and anything remotely Britain First-esque gets upvoted and boosted to the top.

But what happens when two of Twitter's biggest Daily Mail satirists get together and decide to have some fun at the weekend?

DMReporter and BestoftheMail saw how poorly Daily Mail commenters were speaking of migrants and decided to conduct a little experiment. They found some Adolf Hitler quotes and general Nazi propaganda, replaced the word "Jews" with "migrants" and posted a few comments.

"Oh I just love ze sidebar of shame."

And what happened? They were upvoted. A lot.

They began with this quote from The Pestilential Miasma of the World by Robert Ley: "In this struggle against Judah, there’s only a clear either/or. Any half measure leads to one’s own destruction. Judah and its world must die if humanity wants to live; there is no other choice than to fight a pitiless battle against the Jews in every form."

193 upvotes for that one, and only 6 negative responses.

Then there was another one of Robert Ley's, this time from The Jews or Us: "If the Jew wants to fight, it is fine with us. We have wanted that fight for a long time. There is no room in the world for the Jews any more. The Jew or us, one of us will have to go."

Then they moved onto Hitler's quotes. Firstly, this one, word for word: "The Almighty has never helped a lazy man. He does not help the coward. He does not help a people that cannot help itself. The principle applies here."

That was upvoted 66 times.

And then there was a line from Mein Kampf: "This battle is not fought to its end, then take a look at the peoples five hundred years from now. I think you will find but few images of God."

According to the Twitter celebrities, they also added a few more comments which were also well received. Their total yield of green arrows was 480, against a meagre 16 red arrows across their eight adapted Nazi comments.

But that wasn't the end! The powers-that-be at Mail Online caught on, and their account was suspended at lunchtime on Monday. Boo.

We must tip our caps to the Mail Online's comment moderators for realising so quickly.
