Welsh MPs are more likely to want to take a holiday abroad this summer than politicians from any other part of the country, a poll published today has revealed.

The ComRes survey for the travel association ABTA found that two thirds of MPs (67%) are likely to have a holiday abroad. This compares to 57% of the general public.

Getting out of Britain as quickly as possible during the holidays is also a cross-party pursuit. Seven out of ten (70%) Labour MPs are likely to take a holiday abroad, followed by Lib Dems (69%) and Conservatives (68%).

The poll also revealed that nearly 9 out of 10 (88%) MPs from Wales would like to go abroad for some rest and relaxation.

The Welsh were followed by MPs from the Midlands (72%), the North of England (68%), and Scotland and Northern Ireland (63%).

According tot ABTA, MPs from London are the least likely to have a holiday abroad this summer, with just 6 out of 10 (60%) planning a trip.
