Holly Willoughby has explained why she avoids speaking publicly about her weight and diet, stating it is “not helpful” for other women.
In a candid new interview, the This Morning star states that after talking to people affected by eating disorders, she “deliberately” skips the topic of weight loss.
Speaking to the Sunday Times magazine, Holly said weight loss is “a personal thing for me”, adding: “And I think that people get obsessive with it.”
“On this show [This Morning] I’ve sat across the sofa from mums and dads who’ve lost children to anorexia, or their children are currently going through it,” she continued. “And they sit there and say, ‘It doesn’t help that there’s such a fascination with weight at the moment’.
“I very deliberately don’t talk about it. Just because I don’t think it’s helpful to the conversation, for women generally.
“As long as you are healthy and happy, that’s really all that matters.”
Since getting a new stylist in 2015, Holly has become something of a style icon, launching her own Marks & Spencer collections.
She also continues to be a hit with This Morning viewers and last week, left us howling when she fell victim to an on-air April Fools’ Day prank.
