Former ‘EastEnders’ star Zoe Lucker has followed in the footsteps of Gillian Taylforth, by swapping Walford for ‘Hollyoaks’.

The actress, who starred as Max Branning’s partner Vanessa Gold, has switched soaps, heading up North where she’ll be the latest member of the McQueen family, playing Reenie, the mother of Porsche, Celine and Cleo.

Zoe as Reenie

Digital Spy reports that Zoe has already filmed her first scenes, and the actress has shared her excitement at joining the soap.

"I am really excited to be joining ‘Hollyoaks’ - especially as a McQueen!” she said, after the news was announced. "Reenie is a very complex character and will, in time, have a very interesting story to tell."

‘Hollyoaks’ producer Brian Kirkwood, who was also responsible for Zoe’s arrival in Albert Square, added: "I am delighted to be working again with Zöe. In my mind there was only one person to tell Reenie's important story and thankfully she was as intrigued by the character as we are.

"We are thrilled that Zöe will be becoming a McQueen and know that she will bring Reenie to life for our audience."

Zoe’s first scenes will see one of her on-screen daughters visiting her in prison, though it’s not clear what crime she has committed.
