Homemade rockets are a big deal in Thailand, in particular bamboo rockets which are essentially giant wheels filled with solid fuel.
There's a reason they're a big deal, and that's because they look incredibly cool when you launch them. With nozzles dotted all around the wheel the rocket essentially spins into the air like a giant UFO.
It's pretty basic in terms of the science behind it, simply take a large tube, fill it with gunpowder and drill holes in the tube.
Depending on how much you value your rocket you can then fit it with a parachute or in some cases just try and send it as high as possible then watch it explode.
