He added: "It's also probably worth doing your homework if you're a DIY novice because you'll discover tips and tricks that will stop you making mistakes".

Jim showed us how to remove and replace a broken tile in the first in a new series of short DIY videos for HuffPost UK Lifestyle.

3. Remove the tile.

4. Remove the adhesive below the tile: Attach the tungsten triangular rasp to the multi tool and level out and smooth the surface below the tile. You may want to use a mask and/or safety goggles.

5.Clear away debris using a vacuum or dustpan and brush.

6. Keep at the excess adhesive until you have a smooth surface.

7. Using adhesive and adhesive comb. Spread new grout under tile.

8. Place tile on adhesive.

9. Smooth excess adhesive.

10. Once the tile is in, wipe it down with the sponge and wait for it to dry.

12. Smooth off the grout with your finger following the line and then wipe with a sponge.

13. Wait to dry for around 4-6 hours.
