Police have received a "vast amount of information" in the search for a missing 14-year-old girl whose social media accounts have been "silent" following her disappearance more than 10 days ago.
Jade Lynch, from St Helens, has not been seen since Saturday March 26 and is described as "an extremely vulnerable person".
Cheshire Police said that following her elder sister’s emotional appeal for information surrounding her whereabouts, police were following up a number of lines of inquiry, including possible sightings in Manchester city centre.
On Tuesday, Jade’s sister Stephanie Lynch, 22, made an appeal to the teenager, adding that it was not like her to not be in contact with anyone.
She said: “All kinds of things are running through our minds. We just want to know that she is safe, that’s all.
"It's not like her not to be in contact with no-one.”
Detective Superintendent Jon Betts added: “Over the last 24 hours we have received a vast amount of information from the public following the appeal for information into Jade’s whereabouts.
“We are following up a number of promising lines of enquiry at various locations across the country.
"One of the lines of enquiry concerns information relating to possible sightings of Jade in Manchester city centre, but this is only one of the many enquiries officers are following up and we are working with our partners and colleagues in Manchester.”
Miss Lynch added that although the teenager had previously gone missing for four days, this situation was different and her disappearance was "completely out of the blue."
Miss Lynch added that they were waiting for “any scrap of news”.
She added: “We are not angry, we are just worried. She knows us, she knows we are not going to shout at her, ground her or anything like that. I just want to know that she’s okay.”
Jade is not thought to have access to any cash or mobile phones and no updates have been made to her usual "very active" social media profile.
Cheshire Police said Jade's mobile phone was recovered at her home address.
DS Betts added that they remained “really concerned about her safety due to her vulnerability”
He said: “I am asking for the continued support of the public and the media in helping to locate Jade by reporting any sightings of her.
"I would also ask anyone who sees someone matching Jade’s description to call us immediately. Every bit of information could provide a vital clue in locating Jade.
“I would appeal directly to Jade herself to make contact with police and let us know that she is safe and well.
"Jade, you are not in any trouble, your sister and your Nan are really worried about you and they need to know you are OK. Please get in touch with them or dial 101 and ask for Cheshire Police.”
The youngster left home at 1pm on March 26 heading for St Helens town centre with her two younger brothers.
While en route she told her siblings she was going to meet somebody and they parted company in the Duke Street area of the town, where she was last seen.
The teenager has links to the Merseyside and Manchester areas but may also have links as far north as Cumbria and as far south as Bristol.
Jade, who is originally from the Warrington area, is described as white, 5ft 6in, of medium build, with long straight black hair.
At the time she was last seen she was wearing a black hoodie, black trousers and white Nike trainers.
Anyone within any information should contact Cheshire Police on 101 quoting incident number 257 of 29/3/2016.
