‘I Vowed I Would Reinvent The Wheelchair To Make It Cool, Cutting Edge Tech’ - Wheelchair User Andrew Slorance

At 14-years-old Andrew Slorance was paralysed after falling from a tree. But according to Andrew, this moment wasn’t his worst. The worst was when he was given his first heavy and clunky wheelchair. From that day forward he vowed to create and innovate the design and started Inverness-based company Phoenix Instinct. Slorance’s ultra-light carbon fibre ‘Phoenix i’ wheelchair incorporates smart technology and is changing the industry. The innovative wheelchair won the Toyota Global Mobility Unlimited Challenge competition.
