Stephanie Davis has reportedly had to pull out of ‘I’m A Celebrity’ just over a week before the launch of the new series, due to a medical condition.

The soap actress had previously been linked with a place on this year’s series, following her much-publicised exit from ‘Hollyoaks’, which was shrouded in controversy at the time.

However, her rumoured appearance on ‘I’m A Celeb’ appears to have hit the rocks, with reports in the Daily Star claiming that medics discovered Stephanie has a potentially fatal nut allergy in the pre-show examinations.

According to the newspaper, medics warned Stephanie that, because the jungle is so far away from the nearest hospital, “her life could be in danger” should she fall ill on the show, leading her to pull out at the eleventh hour.

This isn’t the first blow for the new series, though.

‘The Only Way Is Essex’ cast member Chloe Sims had also been initially slated for a spot on the new line-up, but was reportedly denied her place after failing the necessary psychological exams.

Producers are also facing “chaos”, due to a planned strike among airport workers in Australia, in the same week the new batch of celebrities are thought to be landing Down Under.

TV actress Leslie Ash, ‘Made In Chelsea’ hunk Spencer Matthews and Union J singer George Shelley have all been rumoured to be taking part, with recent reports also naming boxer Chris Eubank and paranormal presenter Yvette Fielding as potential contestants.

Ant and Dec will front this year’s ‘I’m A Celebrity’ launch on 15 November, on ITV.
