Celebrities have already officially begun touching down in Australia, ahead of the new series of ‘I’m A Celebrity’.

Starting next week, a crop of new celebs will be ditching a life of luxury and glamour, in place of spending the best part of a month enduring tough challenges in the Aussie jungle in order to simply win food.

While a host of famous faces have been rumoured over the past few weeks, potential celebrities have now begun landing Down Under, and the first of them is comedian Joel Dommett.

If you’re not familiar with Joel from his stand-up or presenting ‘Practical Magic UK’, you might remember him from ‘Skins’, in which he had a recurring role as D.C. Sweeney back in 2010.

After he was spotted by The Sun at Brisbane airport, he was asked how he might get on with rumoured fellow contestant Carol Vorderman, to which he replied: I like maths. I like to show my working out. I think she would appreciate that.”

Following this, The Mirror reported that Olympic gold medallist Sam Quek, best known for her efforts on the hockey pitch, was also headed for the jungle, after also being spotted at Brisbane.

However, she managed to dodge reporters’ questions about whether she was there to take part in ‘I’m A Celeb’.

The new series kicks off on Sunday, 13 November at 9pm on ITV.
