Most of the new jobs created in Britain over the last few months have gone to British nationals, official figures show.

In the latest employment statistics from the Office for National Statistics, 208,000 of the 307,000 new jobs created over April to June 2013 were taken by UK nationals, while only 98,000 went to non-UK nationals, as noted by the Guardian's Alan Travis.

However, the number of UK-born people in employment in Britain increased by 98,000, while the number of non-UK born people in employment soared by 204,000.

The ONS admits the figure for foreign-born people in employment is higher than foreign nationals "as some people born abroad are UK nationals".
