Long bobs have been a favourite hair trend for some time now and while devotees of the lob are sure to keep the versatile look going, there's a new style out there for those who like to break from the norm.
Coined by celebrity stylist Sunnie Brook, this new do is called the swing shag or the swag for short. The secret to this look? Layering, with a peek-a-boo fringe.
Brook explained how to get the style in a chat with beauty site Byrdie.
"All those lobs and long mermaid waves are going to get a good shag!" she said. "I'm calling it the swag (a swingy shag) - long layers and peek-a-boo bangs designed at different lengths depending on your face shape. The key is lots of razored texture and movement in the hair. Think Patti Smith or Freja Beha Erichsen ." (Pictured above.)
Yes, you'll need to bring out your inner rock chick but as Brook points out, there's an obvious perk to trying out the swag. "It's a great transition from the lob as you feel like your hair got long and playful overnight with the weight transition in the cut. Also your blow dry time will be cut in half," she added.
Less time with the hair-dryer, more time in bed? We're on board.
