Meet Jada, the 16-year-old American girl from Houston, Texas who is bravely standing tall against rape culture and social media trolls.
A few weeks ago Jada was allegedly raped at a house party. She says her drink was spiked and shortly after she fell unconscious, she was then striped naked and raped.
But it didn't stop there.
Soon after, pictures of Jada's half-naked body started to go viral.
This sparked an abhorrent social media hashtag #jadapose, where teens started to mimic Jada's body and make hateful comments.
In an interview, Jada says that she has been 'assaulted twice' after she was mocked online by trolls.
She woke up without any memory of what happened, but when she returned home, she found that her underwear was on backwards and she had a bruise under her eye. She only realised what had happened the next morning when the images started to circulate and she received concerned text messages from friends.
"I had no control to say no. I didn’t tell anyone to take my clothes off and do what they did to me," Jada said.
The teen said her reputation is now ‘over’, but bravely stated that she would not hide away. She decided to waive her anonymity to speak out against her alleged attackers.
"I'm just really angry," she told MSNBC.
“There's no point in hiding,” she said. “Everybody has already seen my face and my body, but that’s not what I am and who I am.”
Now Jada and her supporters are fighting back.
Jada, pictured with a look of determination and her hand gripped in a fist, is reclaiming the hashtag #jadapose as well as creating new messages of support including #IAmJada#JadaCounterPose.
Her defenders have flocked to social media to show their support of her braveness and to stand up against sexual violence against women and rape culture.
"Rape jokes are not jokes," reads one placard. "Victim blaming is not okay," reads another.
Others are taking this as an opportunity to highlight the importance of teaching men and boys to respect women.
"Rape is not a laughing matter. Real men/boys do not rape. Teach your boys/men respect to ladies, girls and babies!! Punish all violators who commit this crime. #IStandWithJada," says one user.
And Jada's braveness is paying off. Houston police are investigating the case and her family are fighting for justice.
"I couldn't believe that that was my child," said Jada's mother in an interview with msnbc. "It was disgusting, I cried and I immediately got up and went and made a report to the police."
