Murdered James Bulger's dad Ralph has become a father again – to a little girl he calls 'Princess'.
Ralph, 47, says his new baby with partner Natalie McDermott has helped him smile again, 20 years after the death of James.
He told the Sunday Mirror: "Natalie has completely changed my world, and the fact we now have the most amazing daughter is nothing short of a miracle.
"I will never get over the loss of James. I know I'll have to live with the pain and the grief every single day. But Natalie has taught me I can also enjoy some happiness in my life too.
"For the first time since James was murdered I can finally smile and laugh without feeling guilty. I know James would be very happy about that."
Ralph has never publicly named any of his children because he has always feared for their safety following the release of James's killer Jon Venables and Robert Thompson when they were just teenagers.
But he revealed his affectionate nickname for his new daughter, saying: "Our little girl is our Princess because she is so beautiful and precious.
"She means everything to the pair of us and there is nothing we wouldn't do to protect her and keep her safe."
'Princess' was born at Liverpool Women's Hospital on October 18, weighing 7lbs 11oz.
Ralph said: "Losing James in such an horrific way has made me even more aware of how precious our children are and I will cherish my tiny baby daughter every day of her life."
And he added: "It's so sad (that James) will never meet his baby sister.
"I know he'd have adored her and protected her as fiercely as I do. But I believe he lives on through all my children and he is never forgotten.
"When Princess grows up I'll tell her all about James so she can learn about the big brother she never got to meet. I owe that to both of them."
