With just over a month to go, I know it's going to be a tough but rewarding couple of weeks but I'm beyond excited to be included in this historic sporting event especially in my home city in London. In the meantime I hope I can inspire others out there to make changes in their lives and not just in a sporting way.

What a day Sunday was. Birmingham's Alexander Stadium and a whole load of Team GB hopefuls battling it out for a taste of Olympic glory and the chance to train for and take part in one of the world's greatest sporting events. I'd managed to secure the A grade qualifying class needed to progress through and when I won the 200 metres it was all signed, sealed and delivered.

I can't tell you the feeling I experienced when I crossed the finishing line. It wasn't just about the day, it was about the whole journey to this point now and it's only just begun.

With the money that King of Shaves gave me for sponsorship I really got my head down and trained as hard as I could. It was such a relief to not be thinking about money and to just get on with doing what I needed to do.

There's no rest for me now though! I'm off to the European Championships, when I get back I'm heading to Portugal for boot-camp training pre-Olympics.

There's been a great push to get me to where I am today and I want to thank everyone who's helped me along the course of the way in whatever capacity they have.

I think the two things this whole experience has taught me is keep on going and try thinking out of the box. It wasn't easy for me when I was struggling to get funding but I knew that with hard work and the right attitude, it wouldn't be long before I could get back on track.

Sorry it's such a short one from me but as you'd imagine there is lots to do. I'll keep in touch over the coming few weeks and let you know how I am getting on!
