Leading man in the upcoming (and highly-anticipated) Fifty Shades Of Grey, Jamie Dornan would like to stop tying women to beds and is still "haunted" by his brief stint as an underwear model.

However, if there's one thing the 31-year-old can add to his CV after landing the role as Christian Grey it's a whole new selection of knots. Take that Boy Scouts.

"There are a couple of classic knots I know now," he told The Guardian. "And I've put them to good use far too many times recently. In fact I'd like to do a job where I don't have to tie women to beds."

Perhaps he's worried about being type-cast in the future since he still hasn't managed to shake his former moniker as a Calvin Klein underwear model.

The Northern Ireland-born star may have only just made it to the big time but he's actually been acting for years. Explaining how he used modelling to subsidise his income, Jamie said: "Although it looks like I've only been acting a few years, we're talking hundreds and hundreds of failed auditions. I look back on it now and I don't know how anyone gets through the rejection.

"I was lucky. If I hadn't been getting paid to model I definitely would have stopped," he added.

"I think I've done two shoots in my underwear ever. They both happened to be for Calvin Klein. But that tag - underwear model - I just can't get rid of it. And it's such a bizarre, specific thing – underwear. It's like I never modelled clothes."

As Guardian columnist Benji Wilson put it, it probably didn't help, "that someone - he [Jamie] thinks it might have been a fashion editor at American GQ - gave him a nickname, and it's stuck", with Jamie revealing he's still "haunted" by the label "the golden torso".
