Jason Momoa has made it back to the ground safely after his private jet was forced to make an emergency landing.
The Aquaman actor had just taken off from Palm Springs, California when the emergency was declared, after the aircraft’s pilot spotted a suspected engine fire.
Sharing the news with fans on his Instagram story, Jason wrote that 30 minutes after they left the airport “the plane wanted to start a fire” and they had to land.
He also posted a video from the runway, showing fire service trucks parked nearby, joking: “Looks like we’re driving.”
Thankfully, the fire turned out to be a false alarm, according to an update posted on the Palm Springs firefighters’ Instagram page.
Their update added: “ARFF [Aircraft Rescue and Firefighting] Engineer Andy Meza told his crew, ‘Not on my watch boys...not on my watch’.
“Turned out to be a false alarm but the ARFF Lads were on the ready. It’s always nice to meet cool people.”
Jason and the friends he was travelling with then took a new, separate plane to Arizona.
Last month, Jenifer Aniston and Courteney Cox were travelling on a private plane that was forced to make an emergency landing after losing a tyre during take off.
The Friends pair were on their way to Cabo San Lucas in Mexico to celebrate Jennifer’s 50th birthday when the private jet was diverted to Ontario International Airport, amid fears it would be difficult to land.
