Former 'Brookside' star Jennifer Ellison has told of her "terrifying" sea rescue.
The actress and her husband Robbie Tickle were rescued by lifeboat crews when their boat's engine failed. The couple were fishing in the sea off Anglesey on Wednesday when the incident occurred.
The 'Dancing On Ice' star took to Twitter to announce her ordeal: "Just been sea fishing with my hubby!! Needed to be rescued!!! Terrifying! Thanks so much RNLI!"
Rescuer Anthony Barclay told the BBC: "At the time of the rescue we didn't realise it was Jennifer on board, but after all the interest it has generated I wanted to thank her for helping to raise awareness of the work of the RNLI charity and for showing her gratitude to the crew.
"They had the misfortune of suffering engine failure whilst out sea fishing but were towed back in without any complications."
Ellison is not the only celeb who has recently needed rescuing while out at sea…
Destiny's Child singer Kelly Rowland became lost at sea on a private boat in July.
The singer and US X Factor judge was on a whale-watching trip in New England when the boat went astray, and apparently spent 12 hours at sea before making it back to dry land.
Coast Guard Lt Ruairi White told the Cape Cod Times that the boat's captain was following a commercial whale-watching vessel, lost sight of the boat and became disoriented.
The Coast Guard directed a commercial towboat operator to escort the private vessel back to the shores of Provincetown, Massachusetts.
