London rung in it's Olympic day with the ringing of bells on Friday morning, however one woman almost became a victim of too rigorous a ring by culture secretary Jeremy Hunt.
"Oh my goodness, are you all right?" he asked after the metal bell spun off its handle towards the women. "We nearly had a terrible moment there, health and safety! Are you OK? Disaster averted."
"You got a bit more TV there than you were expecting," he told the cameras.
Luckily for the culture secretary the woman was unhurt and saw the funny side. Hunt tweeted after: "Oops bell broke taking part in Martin Creed's ringing in of the Games ... no one hurt but classic #twentytwelve moment."
