US Open 2013: Jerzy Janowicz Booed For Underarm Serve (VIDEO)

WATCH: 'Why'd You Choke Out There, Baumer?'

Jerzy Janowicz, the Wimbledon semi-finalist, was subjected to boos from the Flushing Meadows crowd when he served underarm at the US Open.

The Pole, downed 6-4 6-4 6-2 by Argentinian Máximo González, was hampered by a back injury which took away the power of his fearsome serve, which barely hit 100mph.

Mimicking Richie Tenenbaum's meltdown against Gandhi, Janowicz had 53 unforced errors, threw his water bottle on the court, argued with the umpire and lost the crowd in the third set.

"On my push, I wouldn't call it a serve, he hit two winners on my push, so I decided to try something else," Janowicz said of the decision to serve underarm.
