Jimmy Bullard, the former Fulham and Hull City midfielder, has retired from football aged 33.
Bullard, who played three times this season for MK Dons, has suffered two cruciate knee ligament injuries and ended his career after medical advice.

He said in a statement:
"My old knee injury has never allowed me to get back to where I want to be as a football player.
"It's always hindered me. There are a lot of games in this league and I now know my knee won't allow me to play Saturday-Tuesday-Saturday-Tuesday, it's not built for that now.
"I want to be out there playing but at the same time I know my knee won't allow me to play at my best and to keep my place in the team. I'm hindering myself more than I am helping myself for the future."

Bullard was part of the triumphant Wigan Athletic team which was promoted to the Premier League in 2005 and finished a surprising 10th in their debut season in England's top flight.
However the Newham-born West Ham academy member left for Fulham the following year for £2.5m, aiding the club's survival from relegation in 2008, having not played for over a year since he ruptured his cruciate ligament in September 2006.
In January 2009 he joined Hull City for £5m much to Fulham fans' chagrin but only made 24 appearances during an injury-afflicted spell before he played out the remainder of his career with Ipswich town and MK Dons.
