A man has been charged with murdering a pensioner more than a decade ago.
Patrick Curran, 38, is accused of killing 74-year-old Joan Roddam, who was found near her home at West Downs, near Delabole, Cornwall on November 8 2003.
She had last been seen alive at around 11am on November 7 and her body was discovered at about 9pm the following day in a field at the rear of her property.
A post mortem examination revealed that Mrs Roddam had died from asphyxiation.
Devon and Cornwall Police said Curran was charged after its major crime investigation team had carried out a review of the case.
A force spokesman said: "Patrick Curran, 38, from Delabole, has been charged with the murder of Joan Roddam.
"Curran remains in police custody in Launceston and is due to appear at East Cornwall Magistrates' Court in Bodmin on 19 March."
