A man has been charged with the murder of a 40-year-old widower who was found stabbed to death at his seaside flat.
Joel Elliott, 22, is accused of killing Jeffrey Burrows at his home in Norfolk Square, Brighton, East Sussex, where he lived alone.
Elliott, of North Road, Brighton, has been held in custody and will appear before magistrates in the city today, Sussex Police said.
A post-mortem examination confirmed that Mr Burrows died from stab wounds.
Earlier this week, Mr Burrows' father, David Burrows, said his son's death had left his friends and family "numb" with grief.
He said: "During his 17 years in Brighton, Jeff made many dear friends. We are all numb in our grief and empty in our souls to know Jeff is no longer with us."
A second man, a 21-year-old, who was also arrested on suspicion of murder, is on police bail until May 29, pending further inquiries.
