Johnny Depp and Amber Heard have gone their separate ways after just 15 months of marriage.
The 30-year-old actress has filed for divorce from the ‘Alice In Wonderland’ star, citing irreconcilable differences.
Amber is asking for spousal support from the 52-year-old actor as the couple did not sign a prenup when they married, which he has reportedly asked the judge to reject.
The divorce papers show that the pair split on 22 May, just two days after the death of Johnny’s mother, Betty Sue Palmer.
They met while co-starring in the 2011 film ‘The Rum Diary’ and started dating the following year.
They married in February 2015 in an intimate civil ceremony in Los Angeles before throwing a larger celebration on the actor's island in the Bahamas.
Johnny’s previous marriage to French actress and singer Vanessa Paradis ended in 2012. The couple have two children together, Lily Rose, 16, and Jack, 14.
Johnny and Amber recently hit the headlines after the actress illegally smuggled the couple’s two Yorkshire Terriers, Pistol and Boo, into Australia where her husband was filming the latest movie in the ‘Pirates of the Caribbean’ series.
Australia's Deputy PM Barnaby Joyce had threatened to have the dogs put down, triggering a war of words with Depp.
The charges were dropped after they both issued a bizarre apology video (above) which was widely mocked and parodied.
