Channel 4 presenter Jon Snow has pleaded with viewers to stand up to government proposals to sell off the broadcaster, amid fears a sale would put the future of its award-winning news programme in jeopardy.
Snow used a revealing Ask Me Anything thread on Reddit to lambast Tory plans to privatise the state-owned channel to boost government coffers.
The presenter spoke out after the plans were exposed showing it was exploring the potential sale as part of an effort to divest assets such as the Royal Mail and Eurostar, public stakes in which were sold during the last parliament.
