WHO? Jonathan Saunders
IN A NUTSHELL: It was a twisted, trippy country club at Jonathan Saunders. Prim dresses, riding jackets worn with crisp high collared shirts, and flippy box-pleated skirts were subverted in a gut-wrenching palette chartreuse, scarlet, turquoise, lilac and chocolate brown.
BEG, BORROW OR STEAL: We loved the buttoned up equestrian chic of it all. The acid coloured quilted jackets teamed with patterned high collar shirts were at once clashing and incredibly polished, while the huge floral print shirt dresses were pure country club. Oh - and we definitely want one of the leather visors.
VERDICT: Saunders' show took place on the 19th floor of a tower block in the City of London, and with a perfect sunset and the London skyline as a backdrop, we had our concerns that nothing on the catwalk could complete with the dramatic setting. But we shouldn't have worried. Elegantly subversive, this was one of Saunders' best collections to date.
