It is a national disgrace that there are so many children in care, and so many adopters who want to give love to a child, and yet the two are not matched. It took me six years to adopt, but the fact that the media has been full of the disgusting statistic that only 60 babies were adopted last year hopefully means that the tide is turning, and that prospective adopters will be welcomed better in future. I really hope so, as adopting my daughter was the best thing that ever happened to me.
