The Apprentice judge, vice chair of West Ham FC and mum to two teens takes time out to talk to Parentdish:
How do you relax?
I love crosswords and sudoku and I love reading newspapers. I do that in bed at night!
What's your favourite thing to do with your family?
We love going to the cinema and we enjoy holidays - that's what we strive for all year, to do as many holidays as possible, though not as many as we'd like, if the truth be known!
Should we abandon our guilt over housework and chores to spend more time with out kids?
Oh absolutely. There are only so many hours in the day and sometimes things have to give and sometimes that's the cleaning and the ironing , but the world isn't going to fall apart if you don't do the cleaning and the ironing.
What's more important – to be recognised as being a good businesswoman or a good mum?
I don't think the two have to be separate. I really don't. I think you can be a good parent male or female, and a good work colleague and business leader. In this modern age you don't have to sacrifice either. With communications you can be anywhere in the world. I've had board meetings where I've dialled in when I've been at my son's sports day!
Are women sometimes just too competitive?
I don't think there is anything wrong in being competitive for whatever reason you want to be competitive for. Competitiveness to me means you are not happy with what you've got and you want to get somewhere else. Competitiveness by definition means you have to compete against somebody or something. I don't think there is anything wrong with having determination and ambition...
Do you ever feel like having time off from being Karren Brady and pulling a duvet day?
