Ralph Lauren is not happy with the Duchess of Cambridge, Kate Middleton, after she failed to show up to a glitzy charity dinner at Windsor Castle this week, which he made a generous donation towards.
The American designer, who flew into London especially for the event to unveil the Ralph Lauren Breast Cancer Centre, was thought to be pretty gosh darn annoyed when the Duchess didn't turn up.
While Kate decided to stay at home with Prince George instead of attending the posh charity dinner, her husband Prince William was there rubbing shoulders with fashion's finest, including models Kate Moss and Cara Delevingne and actress Emma Watson.
According to reports, Ralph was considering pulling out of the event when Kate told organisers she wouldn't be attending but was told by his PR advisors it would "look terrible".
"Ralph Lauren had been expecting Kate and was very upset when she said she wasn't coming," a source claimed.
While a spokesperson from the Palace insists the Duchess was never due to go to the event, an insider told Vanity Fairan email from the fashion house was sent laying out demands on "where the Duchess would sit and who she should talk to, which might not have gone down too well," and could have been cause for her non-attendance.
William certainly appeared grateful, telling the 74-year-old on the evening; "I'm sorry my wife's not here, you probably would far rather you saw my wife."
"Not at all," replied Ralph.
After the event, his rep concluded: "Mr Lauren has only ever been enthusiastic about attending the event."
