Kate Upton has been admired by men and women alike since finding fame, however the model has now revealed that she prefers being admired by other women.

In an exclusive interview with Huff Post UK, the swimwear model revealed that she loves hearing positive comments about her body even more when they’re made by women, adding that she thinks they come from a more honest place.

Kate, who is gearing up for the release of her first ever movie ‘The Other Woman’, said: “I always admire and appreciate other women so whenever they feel the same about me and they tell me I’m looking good that day or have an appreciation in that sense, it always feels so great.

“And, honestly, I think that it comes from more of an honest place when it comes from a woman than when it does from a man,” she added.

Kate’s ‘The Other Woman’ costar Cameron Diaz also weighed in on the debate when we spoke to the stars of the film, laughing and adding: “Yeah because we’re not sexualizing you, or objectifying you!” - which Kate agreed with.

“It’s so true,” Kate said. “ Any day, if I have a great outfit, I’d rather have a compliment from a woman, I would.”

Cameron and Kate star alongside Leslie Mann in the new flick, which sees the trio join forces to get revenge on Carly’s (Cameron Diaz) boyfriend, who is married to Leslie’s character and also sleeping with Kate’s.

Kate, who recently took to Twitter to deny making comments about wanting smaller boobs, also told HuffPost UK that she doesn’t always wake up feeling fabulous.

“I think we all have our insecurities some days and we’re really good other days,” she explained. “We feel good together, we feel like huge messes and so y’know, when someone’s like ‘oh wow, your butt looks great,’ they’re saying: ‘wow, they’re working out, they’re doing something!’ and it feels good.”

'The Other Woman' is in cinemas in the UK from 23 April 2014.
