Katherine Jenkins has returned to Twitter to thank her fans for their support following the announcement of her split from fiance Gethin Jones.
The opera singer's account on the social networking site has been quiet of late with only her representatives tweeting messages about her upcoming performances.
The star wrote: "Thank you for all your kind messages & concern. I haven't deserted you... Just taking some time but promise to be back here soon. Kx"
Katherine announced her split from her TV presenter fiance Gethin in December admitting that they were both "broken hearted".
At the time she tweeted: "Sorry for being quiet of late, its just that I have some very sad news. Geth & I have decided to go our separate ways.
We are both beyond broken hearted. All your hugs & support will be much appreciated xxx"
Aside from some scheduled performances, during one of which she broke down on stage, the Welsh warbler has been laying low and she recently credited her fans with helping her perform again.
"I've had so many messages that have helped me. I don't think I could have got up on stage without that.
"I got through (my shows), that's the main thing. I actually really enjoyed it once I was up there. My fans have been so loyal which is so lovely.
"Being on stage is the happiest I've been in a long time. I hope everyone can see I still really enjoy performing."
