Katie Price Hits Out At 'Publicity Stunt' Critics In First Magazine Column Following Kieran Hayler Divorce Tweets

'To Those Who Think This Is A Publicity Stunt, You Couldn't Be More Wrong'

Katie Price has hit out at critics in her first Now magazine column since announcing that her marriage to third husband Kieran Hayler was over.

Just days after confirming she was six months pregnant with the couple’s second baby, Katie took to social media earlier this month to reveal, in a string of angry tweets, that she was divorcing Kieran as he’d been unfaithful with her close friend of almost 20 years.

The way Katie broke the news on Twitter has been met with a lot of criticism, but the former glamour model has stuck up for herself in her latest column for Now magazine.

She writes: “If a husband cheats on a wife, it’s the husband’s fault. If that wife happens to be six months pregnant and the husband happens to have an affair with the wife’s best friend, why on earth would you think it’s appropriate to criticise the wife?”

Katie also hit out at critics who’ve claimed that she’s using her current break-up for publicity, saying: “To those who think my current situation is a publicity stunt, you couldn’t be more wrong. This situation is awful enough without such snide comments.”

This is the first full-length column Katie has written since breaking the news about her split, having issued a short statement last week claiming everything was still “too raw” for her to talk about.

Other celebrities have rushed to Katie’s defense since she posted her tweets about Kieran, with ‘Celebrity Big Brother’ winner Chantelle Houghton claiming she’d have done the same thing in Katie’s position.

Meanwhile, Luisa Zissman defended Katie in her own newspaper column last week, writing: “If she wants the world to know that Kieran is a cheating a-hole… then why the hell not?”
