However, the problem is they have the potential to make a girl look at least 10 years younger than she really is. And not in a good way.

We can see where she was going with this look - perhaps Perry hoped the bow would blend in with her hair colour for a "subtle" statement.
Instead, it looked far too preppy paired with her blunt crop and unlike Lupita's hairband choice, this wasn't effortless or understated.
A sleek hairstyle like Katy's doesn't need any adornment - especially when you already look great in a bright red lipstick and a sheer white dress.
