Katy Perry Tells Dying Grandmother She's Pregnant In Touching Video

The pop star thanked her grandma Ann Pearl Hudson – who died on Sunday – for being the one "who started it all".

Katy Perry has shared a video of a touching exchange between herself and her grandmother, Ann Pearl Hudson, recorded shortly before her death over the weekend at the age of 99.

In an Instagram announcing the sad news on Monday, the singer posted several snaps and a black-and-white video of herself at her grandmother’s hospital bedside.

During the video, Katy reveals to Ann that she and her fiancé Orlando Bloom are expecting their first child.

“I’m going to tell you that I’m going to have a baby,” Katy says. “I’m pregnant, grandma!

“Katy is finally pregnant, she’s the last one, but I have a baby inside me and I wanted to tell that to you.”

The Roar singer honored her grandmother in a lengthy post, writing, “A lot of what I am is because of my father... and he is because of her. She started it all, as she used to remind us and I’m so grateful she did.”

Last week, Katy publicly announced she was expecting in a music video that showed her cradling her stomach.

In a live video, Katy also revealed she is ready to release a new album, saying: “Let’s call it a double whammy.”

Katy added: “I am excited, we’re excited, and happy. It’s probably the longest secret I’ve ever had to keep.”
