Radio 1 DJ Scott Mills had the smile wiped off his face after he played a prank on an emotional Katy Perry during the breakdown of her marriage to Russell Brand.
The former drive time favourite thought it would be funny to hire a Russell look-a-like to surprise the star during her visit to the station last year.
What Scott and his team didn't know was that the pop star was heading towards a break-up from the comic, and fled the room in tears when confronted with her husband's doppelganger.
Scott Mills' prank left Katy in tears
"Well, she ran out of the room screaming. My producer told me she was in tears in the next room, while I tried to smooth it over with viewers.
"I have no idea why it freaked her. For all I know they were having marriage problems. But she eventually did come back on screen. When there was a break she whispered in my ear, 'You better play my songs forever!' Looking back, we were pushing our luck."
The singer, who was officially divorced from Russell in July, showed her heartache over the impending split in her tour movie Katy Perry: Part Of Me, which documented her time on the road last year.
In one emotional scene, Perry accusing him of failing to visit her. When a crew member asked whether her partner was coming to see her, Perry angrily responded, "He should but he's not," later admitting, "I'm fighting to keep my marriage alive".
