The ‘Poker Face’ star met up with Kesha on Wednesday, and shared a photo of herself and the singer holding hands in a symbol of unity.
She captioned the picture with simply ‘Free Kesha’, a phrase that quickly rose to the top of Twitter's trending topics on Friday, when a judge ruled that Kesha was not permitted to leave her recording contract with Dr Luke’s division of Sony records.
Dr Luke recently spoke out about the allegations, branding them “untrue” and “motivated by money”.
Gaga is just one of a host of stars to stand by Kesha, with Demi Lovato, Ariana Grande and Lily Allen all publicly lending her their support.
Taylor Swift was initially criticised by some social media users for her silence over the matter, but her representative later revealed she’d donated $250,000 to the ‘Warrior’ singer “in a show of support… to help with any of her financial needs during this trying time.”
At Wednesday night’s Brit Awards, Adele also used her acceptance speech to publicly show her solidarity.
Kesha recently spoke out to thank her fans and supporters, writing on Instagram: “I am beyond words in gratitude. Thank you is not enough but it is all I have.
“A million times over and forever thank you. The support I have received has left my face swollen from tears. I love you all so much.”
