Kesha Gives Emotional Speech And Thanks Supporters, After Winning Human Rights Campaign Award

Kesha Addresses Legal Troubles During Rousing Awards Speech

Kesha became emotional on Saturday night, thanking fans for their support amid her recent legal troubles.

The singer/songwriter put in an appearance at an event thrown by the Human Rights Campaign on Saturday night, where she collected the visibility award for her work with the LGBT community.

During her acceptance speech, Kesha became choked up as she thanked the people who have had her back, saying: “I'm going through some personal things that have been really intense.

“I just want to say thank you for any support I’ve received.”

Kesha also took the opportunity to highlight a number of problems facing LGBT people in both the US and worldwide, encouraging her young fans to stay strong and true to who they are.

She said: “My message today is don't be afraid to speak up against any injustice you experience. Don't let people scare or shame you into changing the things about you that make you unique.

"We all have to fight for what is right, even if the cards are stacked against us. That's the only way that progress happens."

Dr Luke has vehemently denied the allegations on a number of occasions.

Kesha is now obligated to complete six more albums before she can sever ties with Dr Luke’s division of Sony records, with a number of stars coming out in support of the ‘TiK ToK’ singer, including Lady Gaga, Ariana Grande and Adele, who publicly backed her during her acceptance speech at the Brit Awards last month.
