Kevin Pietersen has been fined over a remark made about former England batsman Nick Knight on Twitter.
Pietersen tweeted on Monday: "Can somebody PLEASE tell me how Nick Knight has worked his way into the commentary box for Home Tests?? RIDICULOUS!!"
He has been docked an undisclosed sum for the comments, made during the first Test against the West Indies at Lord's.
The remarks were deemed "prejudicial to ECB interests and a breach of the England conditions of employment". Part of Pietersen's fine was suspended for 12 months.
The 31-year-old has previously found himself in hot water over his use of the social networking site, when he announced he was dropped from a one-day squad.
Despite his latest controversy, Pietersen stated on Tuesday he would not stop using Twitter.
Knight regularly commentates and analyses for Sky Sports on a number of home Test matches for England.
The left-handed batsman played 17 Tests for England between 1995 and 2001, scoring 719 runs at an average of 23.96. He also hit 3,637 runs in 100 one-day internationals at 40.41.
